Bauxite

Bauxite ore is the world’s primary source of aluminum. It is a rock formed from a reddish clay material called laterite soil. Bauxite is primarily comprised of aluminum oxide compounds (alumina), silica, iron oxides and titanium dioxide.

With its high Aluminum content, it is the only ore used for commercial Aluminum production. This makes the raw material an indispensable mineral in metallurgy, but also in the refractory industry.
